A National Treasure
A Celebration of the Music of Gordon Duncan
The Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust raises funds for the promotion of piping and other forms of traditional music amongst young people in Scotland. The trust has now presented two annual "National Treasure" concerts celebrating Gordon Duncan's amazing musical legacy. Staged in Scotland's Perth Concert Hall and each featuring a cast of over 50 musicians, these very special evenings have been described as "hugely emotional and yet happy" occasions.  We want you to get a taste of these wonderful gatherings with this clip from the 2007 concert. This footage was captured from the audience so it's a wee bit shaky!  It does settle down as you watch and you can get a feel for the view of the stage and see the slide show of Gordon's musical life projected behind the performance of his famous "Sleeping Tune."  You can even hear someone in a seat near you gently humming along!
