Program 1554: Mary Ann Kennedy (March 07, 2013) Week 10

A treasure trove of music is a legacy shared by some families across the generations. Broadcaster and musician Mary Ann Kennedy is from the Isle of Skye Gaelic music dynasty The Campbells, award-winning singers and pipers.  She joins Fiona to share her family story by describing their landmark project "Fonn" (pronounced Fown), a Gaelic word meaning both "land" and "melody," and reveals the essence of rural community life that is reflected in songs of work, worship, land, sea and love.
